onboarding

The success of an outside hire or newly promoted senior leader is dependent upon the overlap of three system components: the behavior of groups surrounding the manager, the company culture and the individual talent, style and skills of the new manager. Success of a new senior leader is not the sole result of that manager’s ability; leaders who understand and perform with competence within the context of their position within surrounding groups, and the company culture, succeed.

Success and retention of high potential managers requires an On-Boarding Process ensuring the new leader’s competence at three levels of the organization:

new leader company culture groups overlap

1. Self as New Leader

2. Groups - peers, direct reports, clients, customers

3. Company practices and culture
